Mr.Krishnan Vaidyanathan & Group - 01st May to 08 May 2010.

                                                                          CERTIFICATE OF APPRECIATION

From 'Fear' of hearing the name ''Jammu & Kashmir'' to the ''Joy'' of being toasted in the''Paradise on Earth'', the credit for this transformation should no doubt go to "DISTANT HOLIDAYS", Srinagar.

It was "Haseeb Khan", Manager - Operations, who instilled the confidence in me to decide to proceed with the tour. From here to finalizing the schedule (tailor made to suit our dates, 1st May - 8th May, 2010), logistics and places of stay and of course the rates Haseeb put his heart in without pinching much on my purse.

Based on this confidence, I was able to pull along both my sisters along with their family members (who were very very cautious in saying 'Yes'), for whom such a long tour is their "First".

Though I got one more option from another tour operator based in Srinagar, I decided in favour of "Distant Holidays" due to their professional approach and continuous personal follow up by Haseeb. To add to my confidence, I was provided with copies of their registration with different travel agent associations, Chamber of commerce etc. The financial transaction was also transparent and safer through on-line transfer to their Current account in HDFC.

The choice of Hotels (I would pick the first of our tour, "Hotel Sri Hari Niwas" in Katra as the pick of the lot) and the House Boat in Srinagar were handpicked for our stay.

We started with the Darshan of "Jai Mata Di" in Vaishnodevi and in a week time we completed Pahalgam, Gulmarg, Srinagar & Jammu.

The climate (We were from Chennai and know only hot, hotter and the hottest), the lush green environments, the steadily flowing rivers of cool and clear water, the landscapes (the Kashmir valley), the snow capped mountains (Gulmarg), where we slid, rolled and had fun, the pony rides all rejuvenated for our Mind, Body & Soul.

If some one questions about J&K being a safe tourist destination, I can assure them with tons of my happiness and by providing them copies of photos that we have shot.We saw a board on the Jammu - Srinagar highway by Border Roads Organization, saying that "We are always awake to ensure you sleep safely" is 100% true. I salute these Jawans in BRO for making our trip a joyful and safe one. When we were back in Chennai, we felt as if we were thrown from the Heaven directly to the hottest place in earth. However, when we looked at our Photos and Video shot in J&K, we came back alive.

Thanks Distant Holidays, Thanks Haseeb for all arrangements including a good vehicle and a safe and courteous driver..

SOUTH INDIAN GROUP OF 24 MEMBERS, WENT TO KASHMIR THROUGH DISTANT HOLIDAYS ON 16 th, APRIL 2010.
Dear Haseeb,

We were given 1 Winger deluxe van & 3 Innova cars. When reaching SRI NAGAR we stayed in 3 boat houses each has 3 to 4 d/b rooms. The boat houses are are very nice, elegant & were built by best woods. After breakfast, we went a SHIKARA ride in the DAL LAKE, a world famous one. Next we went to GULMARG.- first a horse ride & gondala cable car ride which took us to snow. There we played & enjoyed the snow very much for nearly 2 hours.Returned to boathouse. Next day we started to SONEMARG. Its also a nice place to see which is also snowy. Some took horse rides, some climbed the snowhill to a certain level & all played there. On our return, we stayed at GRAND HABIB hotel. It is also very, very nice to stay. Next day, we went to PAGALGAM. All the cars went to a certain point & There we bargained with the hosremen to go 4 places. Its really a adventurous ride. All the horses are going very much steeply on the hills. If one step misses, we would have fall down some 300 feets. After riding some 3 km. we reached mini Swiss. It was very nice surrounded by snow hills. We took almost 2 hours there- played, photographed & relaxed. Kids enjoyed a lot. Returned back to hotel. Next day, we started to Airport & we were dropped at Airport. So many checkings and screenings. All through our tour, we were guided by SOFI JAVED, who is very soft & kind.We were very much thankful to DISTANT HOLIDAYS who arranged this package in much competitive price.

We returned home with sweet memories.

Hi Haseeb
I'm sorry I haven't sent you these photos sooner. I've been a bit lazy in getting the photos printed for our album & I had lost your card with your email. I had to contact one of the other members of our group who had your email. Better late than never.

Thank you & your colleague very much for all your help during our stay in Srinagar especially when our flight was cancelled due to fog in Delhi.

Lin & I thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Kashmir. One thing I enjoy most about travel is experiencing the different cultures that the world has to offer - the different customs & food.
You have a very beautiful country. I would like to see the gardens & the lake in Spring & Summer when all the flowers are in bloom.

I hope you enjoy the photos & again I'm sorry it has taken so long.

Kind Regards

Hi Javed,
A very belated thank you from all of us, for the care and attention that you gave for us on our quite wonderful trip to Kashmir. India was marvelous, but the cherry on the top for the whole group was Kashmir. Tara and I are attending a function on Monday night at the Indian high Commissioners residence in Pretoria , where we are to meet the youngest scion of Gandhi family - Mrs Indira Gandhi's grandson, Rahul, I have already made two broadcasts , since I came back home about our trip , another one coming up next week.

Do stay in touch and give our love to Kashmir!

Kind Regards
Kate
